Below are the steps taken in engraving a Henry Rifle

- First I cut a border design.

- Then laying out circles I design the basic scroll..

- I then cut the “backbone” of the scroll.

- Next I add the leaves filling the scroll.

- Then I add the shading and detail.

- I finally add the background, making the engraving stand out.
